Culabra
Half the fun of flying to Culabra from the mainland was the flight itself. I flew low enough to the water to be able to see the coral reefs and changes in water colors. It was beautiful, but the biggest thrill was landing. The pilot had to fly very closely between two mountain tops and then make a sharp turn to the left in order to line up to the runway. I was in the back seat, peering over his shoulder, filled with excitement.
The island is known for its white sandy beaches, but I found more pleasure in touring the island in my rented Jeep and eating at the local restaurant with the resident lizards.
